Why Parents on The South Shore are Choosing The Gardner School - South Shore Moms

I am very excited to share more information about The Gardner School, a place where learning takes root, and families feel right at home.

Established in 2005, The Gardner School has since grown to 43locations, including Braintree, and Weymouth, with additional schools opening soon, including Hingham (opening Fall 2026). They provide care and education for children from six weeks through five years.

As they continue to grow, the purpose stays the same: to nurture each child’s curiosity, confidence, and love of learning in safe, engaging spaces where they feel they belong.

They believe that from the minute you walk in, you will feel at ease and welcomed.

The Gardner’s School’s vision is simple but so very impactful- A nurturing start for a successful future. You can see their strengths shining through in five very specific ways:

A Heart You Can Feel:  Belonging as soon as you walk through the doors.

Passionate Team Members: Teachers who love their work and inspire children to do the same, building confidence through curiosity every day.

Community That Lasts: Families are known by name and welcomed into the community. Families form connections that continue even after preschool

Calm, Safe, and Inviting Spaces: Every classroom and shared space is intentionally designed to feel safe for children and families.

Beneath it all, it’s the real moments that matter more than perfection. As a parent myself, I find it very true that we value real authentic interactions rather than staged moments. The Gardner School is doing just this. I walked in for a tour in the middle of the week without anyone knowing except the director and to see the teachers shining in each classroom was truly remarkable. No moment was staged, teachers were interacting, laughing with their children, and teaching.

I think it is also important to mention the four pillars that the Gardner School really seems to live by, at least from what I’ve seen as a parent:

Authenticity in Action: Real, everyday interactions, we as parents remember the little things like the quick update in the middle of a busy day or the picture of your child proudly holding a paintbrush or building a block tower. Those things matter especially when choosing a childcare center.

People with Purpose: The teachers at the Gardner School embody the values within the school whether it be putting children first or making a difference every day. You sense making a difference isn’t just what they say. It’s who they are.

Places of Safety and Wonder: All spaces are designed with intention at the Gardner School and each location. Bright classrooms, lobbies that truly feel like home, thoughtful details, and welcoming spaces. When I visited the Gardner School in Braintree I felt at home when I walked in. One small detail that stood out to me is each infant gets its own nightstand (for storing personal items) with a lamp that is turned on while the child is napping. It was a peaceful safe environment that felt more like their nursey than a classroom. It’s details like that that tell you someone really thought about what children need to feel safe and comfortable.

Belonging that Inspires Confidence: The Gardner School is more than a school, it is a community where all families are seen, supported, and valued. And when children feel that sense of belonging, you can see their confidence grow.

After visiting, I can truly say this is a place I would feel great about sending my children. They really do stand out in early childhood education. If you are curious, I’d recommend scheduling a tour so you can see it for yourself.
