Hanover Playground/ B. Everett Hall Field

Address: 495 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA 02339

Hanover’s public playground is located next to B. Everett Hall Field, in the Center of Hanover. The area includes a baseball field, a street hockey rink, two basketball courts, and picnic area. The fenced-in playground features two areas: One for younger (ages 2-5) and older (ages 5-12) children, with swings, slides, climbing structures, and wood chips underfoot. Trees around the perimeter provide partial shade.

Cronin Playground/Haley Field

Address: 210 Central Street, HinghamMA 02043

A toddlers dream playground with swings, a sandbox, a slide, pretend buildings, benches, picnic tables and much more. Sand, wood chips and fenced in. Directly next to Haley Field and the Hingham Town Hall Recreation Area. Bathrooms are nearby. Please note, this playground will be undergoing a remodel in 2024.

SSYMCA Emilson

Address: 75 Mill Street, Hanover, MA

Built in 2023, the playground SSYMCA Emilson branch features slides, climbing structures, balance beams, cornhole, a picnic and more! Turf grounds make is soft to play on.

Tips & Tricks: Located next to the outdoor aquatic center, open year round

Good to Know: Must be a SSYMCA member to enjoy

Cohasset Library Playground

Address: 35 Ripley Road, Cohasset, MA

Tips & Tricks: Located directly behind the library. For closest access, park in the back lot.

Good to Know: Minimal shade cover. Fenced in.

Duxbury Library Playground

Address: 77 Alden Street, Duxbury, MA

Tips & Tricks: Located behind the library. For closest access, park in the back lot adjacent to the tennis courts.

Good to Know: Some shade cover. Fenced in.

Gaffield Park Playground

Address: 26 Forest Street, Norwell, MA

Tips & Tricks: Gaffield Park Playground is great for all ages. There is a large play structure for the big kids and a smaller structure as well! You’ll find lots of fun elements such as a zip line, tire swings and climbing areas as well as plenty of swings! There’s also benches and tables for snacking or to put bags down. The entrance to Gaffield Park is located off of Forest Street (one way) but the park is located around the corner from Norwell center off of River Street.

Good to Know: Good shade cover. Contained wooded area.

Kress Field Playground

Address: 281 Gardner Street, Hingham, MA

Tips & Tricks: This space used to be known as the “land of lost toys” but was renovated in 2017! The playground is not fenced in but it is adjacent to a baseball field and basketball court with parking directly in front. It is great for smaller children and the Derby Shops are conveniently located just down the street if you want to get some shopping in or grab a bite to eat!

Good to Know: Minimal shade cover. Not fenced in.

Marshfield Kids At Play Park

Address: 15 Library Place, Marshfield, MA

Tips & Tricks: The Marshfield playground is great for all ages! With play structures and fun hiding spots, plenty of swings, a rock wall and 16 slides, kids can run and play for hours if you let them! The playground is within walking distance to the Ventress Memorial Library, a number of options for food or a snack (including Dairy Queen) and the Marshfield Skate Park which recently got a face lift thanks to our generous friends at the Levitate Surf Shop (also located within walking distance!) We recommend a visit during Fall and Spring when the weather is cooler and the sun feels so good! All in all the Marshfield playground should definitely be on your list.

North Scituate Seaside Fun Playground

Address: 15 Henry Turner Bailey Rd., North Scituate (corner of Henry Turner Bailey Rd. & Country Way)

Tips & Tricks: The new Seaside Fun playground in North Scituate opened in October of 2017. It is perfect for all ages! With big and little play and climbing structures, a zip line, swings, slides and fun features like musical pipes and a push carousel, it has something for everyone. Bonus, the kiddos get to watch the trains go by! (Just run to the far end when you hear the ding ding ding or the whistle for the perfect view!) The playground is within walking distance to North Scituate shops. Head to the Fresh Feast and pick up dinner for later or grab a treat at Wilbur’s Ice Cream.

Nantasket Beach Reservation Jack Phillips Park Playground

Address: 212 Nantasket Ave, Hull, MA

Tips & Tricks: Jack Phillips Park Playground is steps from Nantasket beach. Climb to the top and you’ll have a great view of the ocean. There is a large parking lot adjacent to the playground on one side and the beach bath house on the other side. It is a quick walk to the Paragon Carousel and if the kids are hungry after all that playing grab tacos at California Underground, voted best tacos by South Shore Living Magazine in 2017!

Nelson Memorial Park Playground & Splash Pad

Address: 32 Nelson Street, Plymouth, MA

Tips & Tricks: Nelson Memorial Park is located directly on the Plymouth waterfront. You’ll find a splash pad, playground, grassy area with benches and beach access all in one location! Make an adventure of visiting and pack a picnic or grab a bite with the kiddos just down the street at Local Yolk Company! Be aware that parking can be tough as it is a popular location, especially in the summertime. You may have to drive around for a few minutes to snag a spot but it’s worth the wait!
