Please read on to learn more about Amanda and the incredible non-profit organization she supports. She truly is a mom who does it all while giving back to her community. Did I mention she runs her business all on her own?!
Where are you from originally?
I’m Amanda, I was born and raised in Plymouth, MA and now reside in Middleboro.
Tell us about your family! How many kids, names/ages?
I’m a mom to a beautiful 16 year old girl, Ayla. My world revolves around being her mom. I have always adored being a girl mom and lived for planning her birthday parties each year. She was the inspiration behind my business.
How did you start your business?
I own Pop Up Party MA & RI, an event planning business that services the South Shore and beyond. We specialize in luxury sleepovers and picnics.  I started Pop Up Party 3 and a half years ago! I had always loved creating magical birthdays for my daughter so I took the leap of faith to turn my passion into some extra income as a newly single mom and it really took off! Right now it’s just me running all aspects of the business.
I also work in the schools full time providing Occupational Therapy Services to students ages 8-16.

Are you involved with any non-profits or do any volunteering?
I volunteer as a Best Buddies Advisor in one of my districts, it’s my favorite part of the week!

My favorite nonprofit is Swirls Around the World. We are on our 3rd year of collaborating bringing a magical event to young pediatric cancer patients. I’ve been so humbled by the amount of small businesses (many South shore based!) that have come together to help make the event possible each year.

What do you find do be the toughest part about being a working mom?
The toughest part about being a working mom is showing up as your best self even on the days that you don’t feel your best while juggling it all!

Is there a quote or mantra you live by?
“Don’t let yourself get so busy building a good life that you forget to have good days.”
