This week’s “Meet a Mom” features Ashlee Feldman, whom you might recognize from the radio on JAMN 94.5 or from her television appearances on “Say Yes to the Dress,” “Ridiculousness,” and “The Real World Season 24.”
Ashlee grew up in New Jersey but currently resides in Marshfield with her husband and two daughters, Layla (4) and Daisy (2). She loves raising her children in the Marshfield beach community.
Ashlee attended Northeastern University on a full athletic scholarship for basketball, where she remains the 11th all-time leading scorer. It was also at Northeastern that she got her first taste of radio broadcasting while commentating for the men’s basketball games. After her time on “The Real World,” she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to co-host an afternoon drive-time sports talk show.
Known for being incredibly real and honest, Ashlee loves connecting with her listeners and takes life one day—and sometimes one hour—at a time.

How did you start your business?
I got into radio while I was playing hoops at northeastern. When we would play doubleheaders with the men, I would change into a dress after our game and do color commentating for the mens games. That’s how i got my little taste of radio and never looked back.
Where do you call home now and how long have you lived there?
Home is now Marshfield! We moved here two years ago from Dorchester. I thought about looking north but my husband is a south Boston native and said we do not go north Ashlee, not ever.

What is your favorite part about living on the South Shore?
I have come to love everything that the South shore has to offer especially the beaches and the most beautiful summers. One thing I’m still not sold on is the bar pizza.
What do you find to be the toughest part about being a working mom?
My schedule is most definitely the hardest part about being a working mom! I love working i think it makes me a better mom however I am up every morning at 3:30 and with these very active little girls- naps do not exist! Mommy needs a lot of coffee.

I love interacting with my listeners. My show is nothing without them so getting to learn about their lives and share mine is something really special. I never feel alone.
What is the best advice you have received as a mom?
Best advice that I give myself- survive- whatever that looks like and know you’re not the crazy one…The toddler is. Nothing ever goes as planned, so just roll with the punches- you got this mama! And i would remind them I have two kids and still google things daily.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
