I don’t know about you mamas but the last thing I want to do on a weekend morning is make a big breakfast. I’m sure my kids are probably eager to get out of the usual cheerios rut anyways. Not only have I run out of ideas of what to have but why would we make a mess at home when we can go out as a family instead? When my husband and I are feeling ambitious and have forgotten and recovered from the last dining out experience with kids we venture out and recently have had great experiences at these local kid-friendly breakfast spots.
Litte Carmens – This gem of a restaurant, located in Norwell, is a parent’s dream, it’s delicious and the service is great and above all it is quick. Everyone that works here is incredibly friendly and will still smile and pretend your kid looks super cute while covered in maple syrup as they politely pick up the messy plate of scrambled eggs that your other little terror annihilated. Little Carmens is a hidden gem and an absolute must on a weekend morning on your way to Home Goods or Home Depot.
Trident Hingham at the Shipyard – This is a great spot for weekend brunch with the kids. The menu has a more urban flair so you’ll feel like you are dining in a city without really having to go the distance. Order the delicious brioche french toast with a side of eggs for the kiddos. We recommend you try the “Toad in a Hole” or one of our favorites, their avocado toast. Top it off with a fancy beverage. After brunch, walk along the water and enjoy the beautiful view. And if the kiddos were well behaved during the meal head to the candy section at Fresh Market for some special treats.
Stars on Hingham Harbor– We love this spot in Hingham. It is my husband’s favorite because of the Just for Kids menu (hello, blueberry pancakes for $1.99). The kiddos eat every last bite because the food is delicious, they are blissfully distracted while coloring, and you don’t break the bank for a barely tasted plate. Total win!
Sam’s on the Harbor– I love this place because never has my cup of coffee run dry here. Sam’s on the Harbor is located in the beautiful Scituate Harbor and has a great family atmosphere. They have an extensive menu (be sure to check out Emma’s Delight) and you’re in and out with the kiddos. Don’t you love when there is never a wait to sit?
