Columbus Day Guide 2025

Are you looking for activities to keep your kids entertained on Columbus Day when they’re home from school? We’ve compiled a list of events happening right here on the South Shore to keep everyone happy and engaged!

Please remember to check for pre-registration requirements, program hours, and age restrictions for each activity. All information is up-to-date on their respective websites or social media pages.

As a friendly reminder, many libraries appear to be closed on October 13th, so please confirm their operating hours before you visit.

Drop-Off Programs

Emilson YMCA (Hanover)-

Ages Kindergarten- Grade 6, 8am-5pm

Must register by 10/9

Stardust Gym- 798 North Bedford St. East Bridgewater

Outer Space Gym Jam is happening! Kids will enjoy space-themed games, fun activities, arts and crafts, and yummy snacks.

Half day is for those kiddos who are ages 4-6 from 9am-12pm.

Full day is ages 4-12, and those who are coming for the full day should bring a nut-free lunch.

All participants should bring a reusable water bottle.

The Crafty Place 185 Lincoln Street Hingham

9:30am-1pm, ages 5-10 years of age, pizza for lunch or bring your own lunch

Starland Sportsplex and Fun Park, Hanover

Starland’s Rec Program is back for one special day-bringing all the energy of summer camp packing into one unforgettable experience. Lunch is included with both half-day and full-day registration. This program is for ages 5-11 years of age, Early Drop-off (8am-9am) is an extra $15. Full day (9am-4pm) $85, Half Day (9am-12:30pm) $60 and late pick-up (4pm-5pm) extra $15.
