Step inside The Boston Artistry Sneaker Bar right in Hingham, and you’ll find sneakers, totes, and hats waiting to be transformed into wearable works of art created by you. At the center of it all is Nandita Singh — an artist, mom, and founder who turned a career in high fashion into a community space where creativity comes alive.

Nandita’s path began in Milan, where she studied foundation design, followed by a Master’s in Footwear Design in London. Her career took her to some of the biggest names in fashion — Prada, Reebok, and Wolverine Worldwide — where she worked as a Senior Designer.
After almost a decade studying fashion, art, and design, and more than ten years living in Europe, Nandita was ready to put down roots. She and her family were searching for a forever home — someplace with a true sense of belonging. The South Shore’s neighborhood feel, the backyard lifestyle, and the strong community spirit made it the perfect match. “After years of traveling and working globally, I was drawn to the South Shore because it felt warm, welcoming, and community-centered,” she says. “Hingham gave us that sense of belonging we were looking for.”
After years of designing for global brands, Nandita felt called to create something more personal: a place where families and individuals could connect through art but not just in any studio.
The Boston Artistry Sneaker Bar was born from this idea of creating a community through art, where families and individuals could come to create. Don’t be fooled though, The Boston Artistry Sneaker Bar, is not just about painting sneakers. “I wanted families to slow down, laugh, and create something meaningful together,” Nandita explains. Projects often have a second life — from sneakers and totes to bike helmets, skateboards, and surfboards. The focus is on art that’s wearable, sustainable, and memorable.
Children leave with custom creations, but they also walk away with something bigger: confidence, joy, and a new way of seeing creativity.
For Nandita, art is about connection. The Boston Artistry is built on community, collaboration, and creativity — whether that means hosting birthday parties, running after-school programs, or partnering on fundraisers, galas, and local sponsorships.
Her mission is to support a community of creative people and families who want to live creatively, and to make space for those who might not always think of themselves as artists. Public murals, local partnerships, and family workshops all carry the same goal: sparking joy and giving people a sense of belonging through art. Each and every workshop blends professional design training with child-centered creativity.
As the mom of a four-year-old, Nandita knows firsthand the importance of giving kids space to express themselves. “Being a mom has shaped the way I see creativity,” she says. “It’s not about perfection — it’s about expression, discovery, and making memories.”
With new murals, events, and workshops ahead, The Boston Artistry Sneaker Bar is quickly becoming a South Shore hub for families who want to create together. And at the heart of it all is Nandita — reminding us that art isn’t only for walls — it’s something we can wear, carry, and enjoy every day.
