Meet a Business: The Sanctuary Chiropractor Club - South Shore Moms
I am honored to feature The Sanctuary Chiropractic Club, run by Dr. Katie and Dr. Ben, for this week’s “Meet a Business.”
The Sanctuary Chiropractic Club opened in October 2025 in Hanover. It is a family-centered, neurologically-focused practice dedicated to creating a space where individuals and families can experience healing and connection through the nervous system.
Both Dr. Ben and Dr. Katie specialize in prenatal, pediatric, and family wellness care. They are particularly passionate about supporting mothers throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.
In addition to running their business, Dr. Katie and Dr. Ben live in Duxbury with their two children. Ben actually grew up in Duxbury and they are both so excited to be back. Having moved to the area in April 2025, they celebrate their one-year anniversary this month.
Read more below to learn about The Sanctuary Chiropractic Club and the benefits of chiropractic care for the whole family.

Where are you from originally?
My husband Ben grew up in Duxbury, MA since the age of 7. I grew up in Southern California and gave up the West Coast to follow my husband out to the East Coast!

Where do you now call home and how long have you lived there?
We are now living in Duxbury in Ben’s childhood home! We moved here in April of 2025 (coming up on a year!)

How did you start your business?
We opened our doors the first week in October of 2025 after finding what we think is the perfect location in Hanover, MA! For the most part, our two kiddos are always in tow with us and along for the journey in starting this practice.

Please tell us more about your business, location, mission, what you are trying to achieve? Tell us all about it!
We are the owners of The Sanctuary Chiropractic Club, a family-centered, neurologically-focused chiropractic practice in Hanover, Massachusetts, serving families across the South Shore!

Our goal is to create a space where individuals and families can experience true healing, connection, and restoration—starting with the nervous system. We focus on the root cause of health challenges by restoring proper nervous system function, helping with issues like stress, anxiety, sleep, hormonal balance, and pediatric development through gentle, specific chiropractic care.

We specialize in prenatal, pediatric, and family wellness care, and we are especially passionate about supporting moms through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Our practice was intentionally designed to feel like a true sanctuary—warm, welcoming, and supportive for the entire family. We operate on a membership-based model to make consistent, proactive care affordable and sustainable for the whole family, because we believe healing happens through consistency—not just when symptoms arise.

Beyond the office, we are deeply committed to building community. Through local partnerships, events, and educational outreach, we are working to create a network of connection and support for families across the South Shore. At the core of everything we do is a belief in honoring the body’s God-given ability to heal and empowering families to take ownership of their health. We are not just building a practice—we are building a movement toward healthier families and stronger communities.

Who can benefit from chiropractic care?
Truly, everyone. We believe chiropractic care isn’t just for when something hurts—it’s about how well your body is functioning and adapting to life. From newborns to grandparents, athletes to expecting moms, every nervous system deserves to be checked and supported. When the brain and body are communicating clearly, people often experience better sleep, improved focus, greater resilience to stress, and an overall sense of ease in their body. It’s not about chasing symptoms—it’s about helping people live more fully.

Why would my baby or child need chiropractic care?
Birth and early childhood are some of the most neurologically formative (and physically demanding) times in life. Even the most natural birth process places stress on a baby’s spine and nervous system. As kids grow—learning to lift their heads, crawl, walk, and explore their world—they experience constant micro-stressors and falls. Gentle chiropractic care helps support proper nervous system function during these critical developmental windows, allowing their bodies to adapt, grow, and regulate more efficiently. Many parents choose to have their children checked proactively, not because something is “wrong,” but because they want to support their child’s development from the very beginning.

Is chiropractic care gentle, safe, and effective for babies?
Yes—absolutely. Pediatric chiropractic care is incredibly gentle and specific. The amount of pressure used is often compared to the light touch you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato. There is no twisting or cracking like people often imagine. Our focus is on the nervous system, using precise, low-force adjustments to support balance and regulation. When done by trained, experienced chiropractors with additional pediatric and perinatal education, chiropractic care is widely considered safe and effective for infants and children.

Why would a pregnant mama benefit from chiropractic care—not just for pain?
Pregnancy is a time of incredible change, and chiropractic care is about supporting the body through that process—not just relieving discomfort. As the body adapts, the spine and pelvis shift, ligaments soften, and the nervous system is constantly working to keep everything balanced. Gentle, specific care helps support proper alignment and communication within the body so mom can move, function, and adapt more efficiently throughout each trimester.

We are both Webster Certified, using a specialized technique designed specifically for pregnancy. The Webster Technique focuses on balancing the pelvis and the surrounding ligaments to create optimal space for baby throughout pregnancy and during labor.

Some studies and clinical observations have shown that women under chiropractic care during pregnancy may experience more efficient labors, including reduced labor times and a decreased need for interventions.

Our goal is to support moms in feeling more balanced, more at ease, and more prepared for birth—by helping their bodies function the way they were designed to.

Why did we create a “club” membership model?
We created our club because we wanted to make consistent, proactive care simple and accessible for families. True health isn’t built in one visit—it’s something that’s supported over time. The membership model allows our members to come in as often as they need without the stress of per-visit decision-making or cost barriers. It shifts the mindset from “only come when something is wrong” to “let’s take care of our health regularly.” More than anything, it creates a sense of community—where families feel supported, known, and cared for in a way that goes beyond a typical healthcare experience.

What is your favorite part about the work you do?
My favorite part of what I do is walking alongside mothers as they step into and grow through motherhood, whether it’s their first baby or their fifth. I love helping them feel confident and supported in their incredibly important role, offering care not only through adjustments, but also by simply being there to listen and walk with them every step of the way. I also love meeting new babies, caring for them, and helping create a
supportive, connected community for every family that walks through our doors.

Dr. Ben’s response – “I’m grateful to be part of something that genuinely helps people, and to have the opportunity to bring my family with me to work every day.”

What do you hope to achieve within the next three to five years?
We hope to grow The Sanctuary Chiropractic Club into a cornerstone for family wellness on the South Shore! We hope to be serving more families, especially moms, babies, and children, through consistent, neurologically-focused care. We want to expand our impact
beyond the office by continuing to build strong relationships with local providers, businesses, and community groups, and by hosting more educational events that empower families to take ownership of their health. Ultimately, our goal is to create a lasting, supportive community and help raise a generation of families who are thriving and connected.

What do you find to be the toughest part about running a business?
Balancing a young family while staying present at home is one of the hardest parts, especially when we’re both so passionate about what we do that it’s hard not to talk about work and our members all the time. It’s even trickier to separate it when your business partner is also your spouse!

What is the best advice you have received as a business owner?
Be present, don’t just do what everyone else is doing, give…and then give some more. Provide the kind of care and service that people talk about around their dinner table.

What is your best advice for a someone looking to start their own business or who recently has started their own business?
This is a hard question to answer since we’re still so new ourselves, but the best advice we can share is this: never compromise your integrity, don’t be afraid to be authentic, and do the hard work now so that ease can come later.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
Dr. Ben and I got married after 4 months of dating and 1 month of engagement!

Is there a Quote or mantra you live by?
The Bible Verse – “Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Your favorite local spot for: a coffee break, to host a meeting, to work remotely, to get lunch from, and or after work drinks?
We love to take our kids to Hardly Saints Donuts in Duxbury! Amazing donuts and even BETTER people! And of course Slacktide in Hanover right across the street from our office!

Anything else you’d love to share?
At the end of the day, what we’re building goes far beyond chiropractic care. We’re creating a space where families feel seen, supported, and empowered in their health. We truly believe in the body’s God-given ability to heal, and it’s an honor to walk alongside the families who trust us with that journey. Our goal is to make a lasting impact, not just in our office, but in the homes
