What is your favorite thing about living on cape cod?
That we are always just a 5 minute drive from the beach. We go during all the seasons, because each season brings its own beauty to the ocean. We also have the most incredible sunsets here on the Cape.
What is your favorite moment as a mom to date?
Traveling to the South of France with Elle when she was 3.5 years old and renting a tiny apartment in the heart of Nice for 6 weeks. My most favorite memory is having a dance party to the Mamma Mia soundtrack in that tiny studio apartment with our French shutter windows wide open, our clothing drying on a rack nearby, and my mom who was visiting there with us laughing along.
What is your profession? Are you in the corporate world or full time Mama?
I’m a school psychologist, and also have my Master’s in Counseling.
We love your lifestyle blog. Tell us a bit more about it and how it began.
It started off as a blog to simply share tips for photography for moms who wanted to capture everyday moments of their kids. I was learning how to use my camera, and I loved being able to share with others small tips and tricks that I learned along the way. It has transitioned over the years to a blog where I share about our travel adventures, holiday shopping guides, or just crafts and recipes that I have found along the way.
What are your top 3 favorite places to buy children’s clothing? What about top 3 for mamas on a budget?
Top three for kids: The Proper Peony, The Beaufort Bonnet Company, and Bella Bliss. And for moms: JCrew (they always have incredible sales), Vineyard Vines (I always wait for sales too), and Lilly Pulitzer (I also only shop during their After Party Sale which happens twice a year).
What is your #1 go-to meal on a busy night?
Elle and I both love pasta, and I can make a really good cream sauce in a jiffy, so it would have to be: angel hair pasta in a cream sauce, and I usually throw some shrimp in there too (Elle will eat 1-2, but it’s better than nothing).
What is one thing you never leave the house without?
I don’t want to say cell phone, but it is my cell, but second would be chapstick, I am lost without it.
What are the first 3 things you do every morning? Do you have a “morning routine”, or does it differ?
Yep, like clockwork everyday. Get up as soon as my alarm goes off, brush teeth/wash face, make coffee, then head to the basement for a 30 minute workout (I do the SWEAT BBG workouts on my phone), then I reward myself with coffee after my workout!
What is your best advice for new mamas?
If you want to sit with your baby on your chest ALL day, do it; don’t feel even an ounce guilty. You will never get those moments back, and literally everything else can wait.
If you had one free day that was solely dedicated to “me” time, what would you do?
Paint!
Any favorite books, podcasts, blogs?
I listen to audiobooks on my way to work, and it is my most favorite thing ever. Top three books that I have ever read would be: First They Killed My Father, One Thousand Splendid Suns, and Before We Were Yours, but I have 20 more favorites too!
Any other hobbies of yours that we should know about?
I do photography on the side (mini sessions in the fall at my favorite beach), and it has been so fun to capture family moments of moms that I have met through my IG platform.
