Q. Where are you from originally?

I grew up in Scituate

Q. How many kids do you have? Names and Ages?

I have two boys Jude is 12 years old and Luca is 9 years old.

Q. Where on the South Shore do you live? How long have you lived in the South Shore area?

We recently just returned back to Scituate after living in Kington for the past 7 years. There is no place like home.

Q. What is your favorite thing about living here? Growing up here?

I love Scituate , I love the beaches and all the local shops/restaurants. Oro is my favorite Scituate restaurant and I love shopping at out of the Blue and the Welch Company in Scituate.

Q. What do you enjoy most in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy going to the beaches Minot Beach being my favorite. I try to ski as much as I can in the winter  Steamboat Springs in Colorado and Sugarloaf in Maine are my favorite mountains. Both my boys are very active in sports , hockey being their favorite so I spend a lot of time driving back and forth to hockey rinks.  My favorite thing to do by myself to find peace of mind is pilates and mediation.

Q. What do you find to be the toughest part about being a working mom and balancing it all?

I’ve learned that balance between working full time and being a full time mom can be found once you are able to define it, set boundaries, ask for help and be realistic. Leaving phones, computers off during dinner time and committing to family time on your days off.

Q. You and your husband also own a restaurant together. Can you tell us a little bit about how you got started in the restaurant business and what brought you to real estate?

My husband and I own Orta Trattoria in Kingston. We owned and operated Orta Restaurant in Pembroke for almost 9 years but we lost that location in March of 2019. We were due to open our second location Orta Trattoria March of 2019 but had to postpone the opening until some of the covid restrictions lifted. Orta Trattoria has been doing great and we are blessed to have an amazing staff, loyal customers, and an incredibly talented executive Chef my husband Brett Williams. I have always loved real estate and working with people. Real Estate was a very natural transition for me. I have an entrepreneurial mindset, I know the South Shore area very well and I pride myself on my strong communication and marketing skills. My main focus is Real Estate, but I am involved with the Marketing and Social Media of the Restaurant.  I sold 12 homes in my first year. I work for a great brokerage in Duxbury South Shore Sotheby’s International Realty and I feel very fortunate to call broker/owner Liz Bone a mentor and friend.

Q. What is the best advice you have received as a mom?

The best advice I ever received as a mom was from my mother who passed away from ovarian cancer when I was 23 years old. She sent me a note in college and wrote “Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers why don’t you plant your own garden?” My mother helped direct and guide me to be independent fearless confident and most importantly self sufficient. I am trying my hardest to teach my boys those same traits.

Q. What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I found out that I carried the BRCA mutation when my youngest was 8 months old. The BRCA gene is a mutation in your DNA that increases your risk to Breast and ovarian cancer. I had surgeries to lower my risks and I try to help as many people as I can to get educated on their family history and to get tested for these mutations if Breast or ovarian cancers  are strong in their families. I feel very blessed that I was able to reduce my risks of these cancers. If you would like to discuss these mutations please feel free to reach out to me I have a lot of wonderful resources.

Q. Quote or mantra you live by?

Mantra I live by… Work on your mindset first & everything will sort itself out after.

Q. Anything else you’d love to share?

If you know anyone looking  to sell or buy a home the South Shore please reach out to me, I would love to help, we could even meet up at Orta Trattoria for complimentary appetizers to discuss all of real estate goals.
