I am so excited for this weeks ” Meet a Mom”! I would love to introduce you all Jackie Cregg of South Shore Piercing.
Jackie is an RN who started her own business, South Shore Piercing which provides in-studio or in-home ear piercing. She is also an in school nurse and has ten additional years of experience working at MGH. She is also a mom to two beautiful girls. Continue to read below about she started her business and what you will always hearing playing on the speaker in her studio!

Where are you from originally?
Duxbury. My best friends to this day are the girls I went to preschool, elementary and high school with.
Tell us about your family! How many kids, names/ages?
I have 2 girls, they are four and six.
How did you start your business?
I started this business because I wanted my girls to have a safe ear piercing experience. I am a full time school nurse so after seeing a bunch of issues that girls were having with their ears in the health office, I knew there had to be a better way. I didn’t want to have to bring my girls to Claires (like I did growing up) Between my 10 years working at MGH, my time as a school nurse, and a girl mom, I actually feel like I know what I’m talking about when it comes to ears!
Where do you now call home and how long have you lived there?
We live in Hanover and have been living for six years and counting, we love it. My husband knew it was going to be South Shore or bust when we were looking at houses.
What is your favorite part about living in the South Shore?
The community, it’s such a great place to raise kids.
What family activity do you enjoy most?
Hiking and then going to a brewery or just going out to dinner together. As the girls have gotten older, they have gotten really good at sitting down for dinner without needing any screens at all at restaurant. We needed tablets in the early years, but now it feels really good that they can go without.
What is your favorite part about the work you do?
I love working with the kiddos. It’s so fun to be apart of such an exciting milestone. It doesn’t even feel like work to me.
Are you involved with any non-profits or do any volunteering?
I’ve donated to a handful of super moms doing various fundraisers for the marathon or other organizations.
What do you find to be the toughest part about being a working mom?
Trying to respond to messages or emails on my phone when my girls want my attention.
What is the best advice you have received as a mom?
Fake it till you make it because there’s no real instruction manual.
What is your best advice for a new mom?
No really advice but I just want people to know it’s normal to feel like you can’t think straight or finish a conversation once you throw a few kids in the mix. Also, enjoy being able to binge watch whatever show you want in the newborn phase, because before you know it, your TV is going to be hijacked with the same movie on repeat in order to make your tiny little one happy.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I was born on Christmas morning and I am the youngest of 4. My siblings still call me out on having to wait to open up their presents from Santa that year. Oh and my poor mom had to miss all the Christmas festivities. I like to think I was worth it though.
Is there a Quote or mantra you live by?
Remember that everyone is doing the best they can and you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes.
Your go-to Pandora/Spotify/Apple Music station?
Taylor Swift Radio- it’s always on in my studio.
Your favorite local spot for: date night, coffee break, workout, new outfit, self-care, “me time”
Vivo Osteria for date night and TJ Max sans kids for some me time.
Anything else you’d love to share?
My studio space is so cute, I am obsessed. I provide snacks, fun music, and a safe place. It’s what I would want for my own daughters.
