Tell us about your family!
I’m a proud mom of two amazing boys! Right now, I’m living in the unique spectrum of parenting a teenager and a first-time college freshman. No one really talks about the part of parenting when you have to let go, but wow—it’s a chapter all on its own. My oldest, Jackson (18), is thriving as a freshman at Roger Williams University and loving campus life. My younger son, James (16), is learning to drive and keeping me on my toes. It’s a season full of change, growth, and a whole lot of heart.
How did you start your business?
My journey to building Made of Gold Lactation comes from a deeply personal place. Years ago, my husband and I were both very sick with a virus that attacked our hearts differently. A span of 4 years, I barely remember that time. Even though I missed working with families, this was a time that my family needed to heal. My boys were only 2 and 4, and during that time! When I finally began to heal, I knew I wanted to return to the work doing what I loved most…Supporting families through one of the most vulnerable, powerful chapters of life—feeding their babies. That passion has only grown, and it’s what fuels my practice today.
Where do you now call home and how long have you lived there?
Although I grew up in Cambridge & Brockton, MA, and spent time on the West Coast, the South Shore has been home for the past 20 years—the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. It’s where my family has grown roots, and it truly feels like home.
What is your favorite part about living in the South Shore?
I love the balance this area brings. The ocean is just minutes away, collaborations with other small businesses and professionals are plentiful, and the maternal support community here is unmatched. Families aren’t left to navigate parenthood alone—we’re all stronger together, and that’s something I deeply value.
What family activity do you enjoy most?
Travel and vacations are our thing! Whether it’s exploring somewhere new or sneaking away for a quick getaway, we love the adventure. And of course, our Irish Setter, Guinness, is always part of the fun—he’s just as much a part of our family adventures as the rest of us.
Are you involved with any non-profits or do any volunteering?
Absolutely. Volunteering has always been a big part of our family’s values. Every year we raise money for the American Heart Association and teach kids hands-only CPR, holiday drop off food and supplies to local dog shelters, and given time where it’s needed most. I also run a free support group every first Tuesday of the month for families navigating feeding challenges—it’s a safe, welcoming space where no one has to feel alone.
What is the best advice you have received as a mom?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Motherhood was never meant to be a solo journey, and letting others in makes all the difference.
What is your best advice for a new mom?
Give yourself grace. There’s no “perfect” way to do motherhood.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a ballroom dancer! I love showcasing and competing in Latin and smooth styles. It’s been a few years since I’ve competed, but I’m excited to get back to the ballroom next year. Dancing lights me up in a completely different way, and it’s a reminder to always make space for joy, especially in heels
Is there a quote or mantra you live by?
“Have fun! Worry less! Love hard! Live fearless! REGRET NOTHING.”
