Where are you from originally?
Middleboro, MA

Tell us about your family! How many kids, names/ages?
I have two kids…Wes(6) and Jax(4).

How did you start your business?
I started my business after a life-changing experience where I almost lost my life, following the birth of my oldest son. It made me realize that
I didn’t have a plan in place for my own family. As a lawyer, that was a wake-up call. If I had been putting it off, I knew so many others were too. What began as helping friends put simple plans together around my kitchen table has grown into what it is today; a business built on protecting families and giving them peace of mind.

Where do you now call home and how long have you lived there?
Duxbury, where I have lived for 8 years now.

What is your favorite part about living on the South Shore?
I love the people and the community!

What family activity do you enjoy most?
I have a few favorite science experiments that we have done, swimming in our pool and Duxbury Beach with my boys!

What is your favorite part about the work you do?
I love knowing that every time an estate plan is signed, another family gains peace of mind and clarity.

Are you involved with any non-profits or do any volunteering?
I volunteer heavily in my community. I am a past president of the Duxbury Newcomers Club and volunteer with the PTA in my kids’ schools. In addition, Law Mom sponsors a variety of local youth sports and non profit organizations like Duxbury Youth Soccer, Duxbury Youth Football,
and Duxbury Education Foundation.

What do you find to be the toughest part about being a working mom?
There is never enough time!

What is the best advice you have received as a mom?
You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be present!

What is your best advice for a new mom?
I always make sure to ask a new mom, “How are YOU doing?” I think it is so important because oftentimes the focus is on the newborn but momma matters too and self care is important! My friends and family did overnights so I could sleep and I continue the tradition with my family and friends.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I was a competitive figure skater.

Is there a Quote or mantra you live by?
Never give up, keep going.

Your go-to Pandora/Spotify/Apple Music station?
I spent time in Miami and I absolutely love house music! I love having Monday morning dance parties at Law Mom, to get us ready for a great week!

Your favorite local spot for:
Date Night: Osteria Vivo in Pembroke
Coffee Break: I am a Starbucks LOVER
Workout: chasing my kids around
New Outfit: The Strand
Self Care: Shoutout to my FAVS at Deluxebar Duxbury
Me Time: Any Spa and I love Luna Nails in Kingston (they have the best pedicure)!

Anything else you’d love to share?
I didn’t start out with everything figured out. Honestly, I was just like most moms… juggling a million things and putting myself last.
It actually took a really scary moment in my life to make me stop and realize how important it is to think about the “what ifs”… even the ones we don’t want to go near. And truthfully, I’m still learning how to slow down. One day at a time.

Becoming a mom changed everything for me. It made me realize just how much love we carry and how much responsibility comes with that. You want to protect your kids in every possible way emotionally, physically, and yes, even in the ways we don’t always talk about. And here’s what I’ve learned… it’s okay if you don’t have it all together. Most of us don’t. But taking that first small step, even just starting the conversation, can change everything. At the end of the day, I’m just a mom who wants her family to be okay no matter what… and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way

It truly takes a village and it is OK to ask for help. I am so grateful for my families, friends, and team at home and at Law Mom ®.

Head on over to their website to learn more and schedule your consultation today ( I actually just scheduled ours today)! And be sure to follow them over on social media to learn more, they also offer some great advice!

Thank you Sam and Law Mom® for all you are doing for our community!
