Meet Courtney | South Shore Moms

Courtney moved from Atlanta to Boston 18 years ago. She and her husband have been on the south shore for 11 years. They live in Cohasset with their three kids, Charlie, 9, Natalie, 7 and Grant, 5 and dog Bella.

What do you love about Cohasset? What’s better than having an unplanned playdate at the beach with all of your friends? We have met so many genuine people in Cohasset.

What do you love to do with your kids around town? Our family really loves the town pool followed by a trip to JJs or Del’s (can you tell we love summer around here?) We love participating in the Cohasset Jr. Triathalon, Cohasset Swim Team and we love to ride bikes while taking our dog, Bella, for a walk.

Your go-to meal for kids? I am told I make a really good hotdog. But, I think I make a better meatball.

◇ What is one of your favorite moment as a mom to date? There are too many to count but I always look forward to our vacations. We try to take vacations with just our family a few times a year. After we get away together, we always come back refreshed and closer to each other.

◇ What do you find is the toughest part about being a mom? The older my kids get, the less time I get with them because they have also become busy. I want them to have their own experiences, but time really does move as fast as they tell you.

◇ What is the best advice you have received as a mom? To spend my time wisely.

◇ What is the best advice you would like to give to a new mom? When it comes to your kids, follow your instinct. Only you know what they need.

◇ What is one thing you never leave the house without? (Sadly) my phone. I need to be reachable all of the time.

◇ What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I make my kids watch all of my favorite 80s movies. ET, Troop Beverly Hills, Annie, Girls Just Want to Have Fun…They love them!

◇ What do you do for work? I still work. I started a biotech sales training company, Field Factor Training, 6 years ago.

◇ Tell us how you started your company. What inspired you? I worked really hard for my career before I had kids, but I also wanted to be a very involved mom.  My former job did not allow me to be good at both. Although my current work can be very demanding, I find that I am able to be where I need to be all of the time. This makes it all worth it.

Where do you love to shop for yourself? Madewell and Zappos usually.

Where do you shop for your kids? Zappos

◇ Must have for moms? Starbucks

Must have product for expecting moms? I was pretty obsessed with my Teutonia hand muff stroller accessory. It was essential for my winter walks.

◇ Favorite toy for kids? My kids still love playing with Magnetiles.

Anything else you would like to share? I wish my hair and nail salon were open late night

Thanks, Courtney! I live on Starbucks and also lament that we don’t have nails & hair open late. Also, can we get a drybar?
