You know what they say, eyes without great lashes is like a cake without frosting. We had the pleasure of going to Walsh Styling & Beauty Bar where you can get fabulous lashes by Jess. What an amazing experience. So natural. So beautiful! Here is the scoop on lash extensions.
What are they?
Lash extensions come in a variety of types yet Jess specifically uses weightless, fine, synthetic lashes. This means you really don’t feel them! Jess chooses the lash set based on your type of lashes. So, if you have long straight lashes, she’ll give you curled lashes but if you have just short lashes, she’ll fit longer ones to you as well. She always starts with a classic, natural look and exaggerates the lashes based on the client’s preference.
How do they stay? And for how long?
Jess uses medical grade adhesive that is safe for those who are pregnant as well. She attaches them by separating each lash and attaching the extension to a full natural lash. She explained that if done incorrectly, the extension can be attached to a baby lash and then damage the root. We wouldn’t want that!
Why get them?
Lash extensions are a natural face brightener and they take away the fuss of applying and removing mascara, leaving you with a daily natural glow. If you are hesitant, don’t be…we definitely recommend! You’ll wake up feeling like a movie star everyday. If you are concerned about the upkeep, there are other options as well.
Not into extensions? Try Lash Tinting and Semi-Permanent Curling
Jess also specializes in lash tinting and curling for those who might be too busy to keep up with extensions. She tints your lashes by dying them the color of your desire. This is perfect especially if you have naturally long lashes but find that they are a bit too light to notice, or if you notice the tips of your lashes lightening with the sun. A semi-permanent curl is for those who have naturally long lashes but find that they do not curl the way you wish. Although these may seem like slight differences, they make that daily glow a bit brighter!
How to best prepare for your appointment
All you need is to show up with a clear face, showered, and mascara free. The oils from mascara can loosen the adhesive and your extensions won’t last as long. When having extensions, you don’t need to wear mascara and definitely shouldn’t! If you feel the need to enhance the lash extensions even further, Jess sells a mascara specifically designed for extensions.
