Ways to Boost Your Energy Today

There are a lot of reasons why moms are right up there with medical residents and shift workers in terms of soul-crushing sleep deprivation. From pregnancy insomnia to waiting up for teenagers to get home (and all the sleep issues in between) motherhood and sleep aren’t exactly compatible. But there are some ways to feel more awake, today, right now. Here are four, research-backed tips to try.

The Press Pause Project

You’ve probably been hearing a lot about CBD—aka Cannabidiol, or one of the chemical compounds found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. Health benefits being discussed for products infused with CBD include reducing anxiety, depression, pain and insomnia—without the psychotropic effects associated with smoking marijuana.

Recently, we heard about The Press Pause Project, a line of CBD rich products made for and by women. Their mantra—asking women to “take a moment and press pause”—spoke to us, as did their line of organic, fully-tested and certified, CBD-infused products, which include creams, capsules, a tea and more. Here’s what else you should know about CBD and the two moms behind The Press Pause Project, Dawn Fable and Torrey Benson.

How To: Travel With Kids

If you’re traveling this winter, you might be dreading the part where you tote your tired and bored kids on long stretches through planes, trains and automobiles. To get some  tried and true advice, we turned to two people who are more experienced at traveling with a child than anyone else we know, Madison Elizabeth Cornelis and her husband Cees of the gorgeous and inspiring site, Our Vie.

In 2014, they got engaged in Yosemite National Park, and in 2016, decided to celebrate the 100thbirthday of our National Parks system by visiting all 59 of them. It took a year and a half, and along the way, they had baby Theo (now 2). They’re still traveling full-time, in a 6-cylinder (read: intimate) RV and documenting it for their blog and Instagram followers through Our Vie. “We are modern minimalists living life whole-heartedly full of quality time, meaningful experiences and exploration outside!” says Madison Elizabeth. Here’s how

Getting To Know: Inly School

Inly school opened in 1973 as The Montessori Community School with only 36 children enrolled and a faculty of four. In 2004, the name was changed to Inly School to reflect the school’s growth into the upper levels, as well as the uniqueness of our curriculum, which is grounded in Montessori methodology, guided by educational best practices, and infused with creativity. Inly is an actual word! To do something “inly” is to do it “with deep thought and understanding.” This captures the essence of our approach to education and to the challenge we set before our students. Over the past 46 years, Inly has grown into an innovative and dynamic school serving a population of over 275 toddler through middle school students on an expansive 10-acre campus.
