Weekend Roundup: Happy December! | South Shore Moms

Happy December! This month is a whirlwind but make sure you enjoy every day of it. It is so magical. The Traditions during the holidays are so much fun! Writing letters to Santa, wishes for favorite toys and gadgets, making cookies, wrapping presents, and counting down the days. All of these help contribute to what we know as the “magic of the season”. As mothers, we grow to learn that the true magic of the holidays is the spirit of giving. After all, we give and give and give.

This year, let’s teach our children to learn to give from their hearts. Before their lists and wishes are fulfilled, give them an opportunity to donate lightly used toys, encourage them to do something kind for others, help them pick out a “secret santa” gift for a neighbor or friend and allow them to experience the joy of simply giving.

Around town:

Lots of Holiday fun to be had! Kick off the weekend with Christmas in Hingham Square. Celebrate the season in Scituate Harbor with Santa, hayrides, shopping, face painting and more. Stop by the village fair on the Cohasset common. Want locally made, one-of-a-kind gift ideas? Be sure to check out the Holiday Marketplace in Norwell. Head to Buttonwood Books for a visit with Santa and Mama Steph. Looking for a lovely family tradition? Visit Holly Hill Farm Day Fair for some delicious food, hay rides, wreath making and farm animals. Don’t miss the festival of trees in Hingham, the Holly Jolly Horse Drawn Hayrides, Weir River Christmas Tree sale, or the Holiday Happenings at Derby St.
